Back from a weekend in london with good friends.

Friday...waiting on the wrong side of embankment tube station for friends to come and find me, looking across the water to the eye, tottering through the streets to a restaurant where we enjoyed good food and good conversation and the entertaining waiter, staggering back to amy's, getting the heel of my shoe stuck in a crack in the pavement (my gucchi shoe!) and est and i trying to find a way to the pavement that didn't involve wading through mud or breaking through a gate onto a building site.

Saturday....amy took us for breakfast at a cafe i thought she said was going to be near the imperial war museum but actually turned out to be in the museum. its not everyday you go into a museum, bypassing the exhibits and displays, going through security guards and handbag searches, just to enjoy the culinary delights of the cafe. In fact saturday was not going to be that day either; they didn't serve cooked breakfasts so we marched straigh back out, past the security guard and man who gave us maps (excuse me is the cafe marked on here?), and instead we went for bagels and coffee and spent the rest of the morning in starbucks until it was time to fetch andy and jenny and rachel the tourist from lambeth north tube station.

o dear i'm gona have to finish this later i have to go...
