I have returned from Germany after 5 days of hot sun and family tension. I had forgotten i was going until the night before and really i should have stayed at home and filled out the job application forms i have been avoiding. I had quite a good time surprisingly, i haven't seen my mum so relaxed in ages. Our first day there we stayed in Achen (don't know if i spelled that right) and up in their hotel room my parents sit down to relax after travelling and whip out a melon. Who takes a melon with them on hoilday? I speechlessly (well not entirely true) watched as they hacked at this poor defenseless thing with a little, blunt (and probably rusty) pen knife. We also went to Dusseldorf, Kleve and made a stop in Belgium staying in Brugge. My dad was embarrassing with his mixture of German, French and Spanish "L'addition por favor, dank u". Every day included a history lesson and a rather heated debate about the catholic church and life after death (so a typical day with my parents). My mum tried to persuade my dad to buy an accordion (his uncle Tom apparently once tried to teach him) and i almost bought a sword (just because). so there we go a quick summary of my trip to Germany. don't really have much else to write, i'm just putting off form filling. I must go and sell myself on paper.
