Friday afternoon, last lecture tired and drained and all i can think about is my bed. i looked back over my notes for the lecture:

I think thats an ostrich on the right, i don't know what sachs (1967) has got to do with anything and the list of words (if you can make them out) had something to do with how our language has been shaped by men. It was abviously a productive lecture, i might as well have left early. Anyway i shall catch up on my sleep and pay attention next time. I dont think it was too exciting though, shiv was drawing vegetables, laura drew a cup cake and bryony made frustrated noises at the amount of time the lecturer ermed and erred. "err the erm study erm showed blah erm blah, no...wait a minute erm thats not err right." Actually thats not fair, it was quite interesting on the point of male shaping of language eg we could think of more words for a woman of loose sexual morals than we could for a man. I did wonder though if perhaps its actually because of how women use the english language. A saturday night on the streets of reading town centre i am more likely to see women hurling verbal abuse at each other (men are insulting each other as well but they don't seem to be so creative and use the same one or two words before moving on with puffed up chests feeling they have made their point, pissed on their enemy and sent him skulking away, or move onto physical insult ie bridget jones style). women are very creative and will use all the words under the sun to present the tarnished image of their foe before them for all the world to hear.

Lots of good things happened this week: i passed two of my exams, i found out when and where my placement is, my organic veggie box arrived, i have started making plans to go to Sweden in April and I bought joni mitchell cd blue for 2.50 (absolute bargain and i am loving it).

i passed my psychology exams, would have been terribly embarrassing if i had failed these because this made up half of my undergrad degree. I also got the placement i wanted; i will be on a paediatric placement in East Surrey so i will be able to stay at home for those two weeks.

Not sure if i have mentioned before that i have decided to have my vegetables delivered. I felt terribly extravagant when i ordered my first box but i felt forced to do it, my local supermarket should be ashamed of what it claims to be vegetables. So i have gone organic and its from a British farm so i feel like i am supporting british farmers, which is a good thing. The contents of the box depends on what is in season. So my first box arrived today and i have been like a giggly excited school girl all day, eager to get home to see what i had got. My vegetables are beautiful and they smell so good. I'm not crazy by the way, it is possible to get excited by vegetables.

Went to see nightwatch last night (Russian horror/fantasy/thriller). i recommend seeing it. I thought it was clever how they made the english subtitles part of the action, they added to the film rather than distracting attention.
